USING THE SAME, SIMILAR, DIFFERENT, LIKE , ALIKE

– The same ( cùng/giống) , similar (tươngtự), và different ( khác) được dùng làm tính từ .
Lưu ý : “the “ luônđứngtrước “same” .
e.g. John and Mary have the same books.(their books are the same )
John and Mary have similar books. (their books are similar )
John and Mary have different books. (their books are different )
– The same được theo sau bởi as, similar được theo sau bởi to, different được theo sau bởi from
e.g. This book is the same as that one
This book is similar to that one
This book is different from that one
– Danh từ có thể đứng giữa the same và as
e.g.
She is the same age as my mother
My shoes are the same size as yours

– Cách sử dụng like ( giống) : Noun + be like + noun
– Cách dùng alike (giốngnhau) : Noun and noun + be alike
e.g. My pen is like your pen
My pen and your pen are alike
– Ngoài theo sau “be” , “like’ còn theo sau một số động từ khác, chủ yếu là các động từ chỉ giác quan
e.g. She looks like her sister
It sounds like thunder
This material feels like silk
That smells like gas
Stop acting like a fool
– “Alike”cũng có thể theo sau một số động từ khác “be “
