Các cấu trúc nói về thì tương lai

❀ Be to + V-inf: talk about official arrangements in the future – Nói về một dự định,một sự sắp đặt đặc biệt khi nó là chính thức

Ex: The President is to hold an official reception for the visitors Tổng thống sẽ đón tiếp chính thức các quan khách

✣ The verb be is omitted in headlines – khi là tựa đề báo thì to be được bỏ. President [is] to hold an official reception

❀ Be about to + V-inf: talk about an event that we intend or expect to happen in the near future – Nói về sự việc sắp sửa xảy ra ở tương lai gần

Ex: The play is about to start. Vở kịch sắp bắt đầu

❀ Be on the point of + V-ing: talk about things that we expect to happen very soon – nói về việc sắp xảy ra

Ex: I’m on the point of leaving my job Tôi định bỏ việc

❀ Be due to + V-inf: talk about things that are scheduled – nói về sự việc đã được lên lịch

Ex: They are due to arrive at the factory at 10:30. Họ định đến nhà máy vào lúc 10:30

❀ Be likely to + V-inf: talk about things in the future that are probable – nói về sự việc trong tương lai có thể xảy ra

Ex: The journey is likely to take ten days Chuyến đi có thể sẽ kéo dài trong 10 ngày

❀ Be unlikely to + V-inf: talk about things in the future that are improbable – nói về sự việc trong tương lai có thể không xảy ra

Ex: They are unlikely to arrive before 6:00 Họ không chắc sẽ đến trước 6:00

❀ Be sure/bound/certain to + V-inf – Talk about things are definitely going to happen – nói về sự việc chắc chắn xảy ra trong tương lai

Ex: The weather is sure/bound/certain to get better tomorrow Chắc chắn ngày mai thời tiết sẽ tốt hơn
