❈ ❈ ❈ To talk about a purpose of an action, we can use in order/ so as + To-infinitive.
Để nói về mục đích của một hành động, chúng ta có thể dùngcấu trúc in order/ so as + to- infinitive.
E.g. He study English in order to/ so as to get a better job.
❈ ❈ ❈ In spoken English it is much more common to simply use to-infinitive without in order or so as with the same meaning. Trong văn nói, chúng ta thường dùng to-infinitive thay vì dùng đầy đủ in order to hay so as to để chỉ mục đích. Trong trường hợp này, không có sự khác biệt gì về ngữ nghĩa của 2 cấu trúc cả.
E.g. They phoned Sally to ask about the status of their order. = They phoned Sally in order/ so as to ask about the status of their order.
❋❋❋ In order that / So that + S + V + O. These two structures are also used to talk about a purpose. However, so that is more common than in order that and is used in less formal situations. We can leave out the word that after so. Hai cấu trúc In order that và So that thường được theo sau bởi một mệnh đề hoàn chỉnh.
